The phone rang the other day, and a man said “Is this ClearHealthCosts? You have a story about a place to get a $295 MRI. Can you tell me how to reach them?”
We had run a blog post about RPN of California, the home of the $295 MRI, a surprisingly low price.
Costs for an MRI can run from $350 to $3,500, as we know from our surveys of prices, and so $295 is indeed pretty low.
The man on the phone explained that he wanted to get in touch with RPN because he needed an MRI for his daughter. We gave him the contact information — here is their web site — and he thanked us.
Before he hung up, he said “You’re providing a great service here — you know that, right?”
We thanked him, and felt good all day.
