My doctor os an ARNP, very closed to a doctor by the way, he looked for "self-pay" costs in our area for my CT Scan and found costs ranged from approximately $ 440 to $ 1800 and more. Being a member of Direct Primary Care at my age is only $109 month with as many office visits as I need with many many procedures included. For example they draw the blood for tests and an A1C test costs me $12.00 , yes only $12. I had a battery of test from that blood sample and it cost me a total of $38.00 ! My DPC, Matt Dinsmore, ARNP also dispenses most prescriptions for me right there in his office and in the rare case he does not have the med he checks to see where a good cost is. He is professional, very knowledgable, and caring and I feel very well taken care of with all my health needs. He also has a network of specialist from surgeons, physical therapy, and more that he can call and and opinions on whether you the patient should see that specialist or not and at a special cash pay price. WOW, what great heath care I'm getting now!

My father is a Humana member and this hospital is tge only one within 50 miles. Humana knew his address upon enrollment. He required emergency services, the local hospital was not a member. CT scan of head to rule out a stroke and pharmacy charges were NOT covered.

After receiving X-ray statement, I checked with Pines Radiology, where I usually go. They said procedure would be $650, (approximate because I can't remember exact fee) Then I called Mt. Sinai X-ray. & told them about Pines Radiology. They said "What did i care? I wasn't being charged." I was furious & said we all end up paying as taxpayers.The only reason I used hospital X-ray was at end of physician visit in hospital bldg. He insisted CT scan needed immed. I actually protested because had very recent MRI. But decided to make it easy while already there. BTW, the physician went on to become chairman of Barry Univ. Podiatry Dept. immediately after. Guess he was a real rainmaker!!
