Doctor ordered the MRI for my husband who is having problems with his back, that is causing extreme weakness in his legs, to the point his legs give out on him. Cigna denied the procedure, thank goodness before the test was run. He was denied because he hadn’t received any pain meds for at least 6 weeks, no severe weakness & 3 other reasons. In this day & age.where everybody is up in arms over pain medication addiction & abuse, I find it absurd, that that is the first reason he was denied. Our insurance cost us personally over $600.00 a month & his employer pays 3/4 of the total cost for the insurance, you do the math. Mind you, we never go to the doctor except for yearly check ups, so we don’t cost Cigna much.
