We often hear that doctors in the U.S. are paid extremely well in comparison to those in other countries.
A friend sent a link not long ago to a paper about medical cost comparisons from the Journal of Economic Perspectives titled “The (Paper) Work of Medicine: Understanding International Medical Costs,” by David M. Cutler is Otto Eckstein Professor of Applied Economics and Dan P. Ly is a graduate student in the Kennedy School of Government, both at Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass.
It’s not publishable here because it’s apparently behind a paywall, and it’s from 2011 so it’s not brand new, but the chart here is interesting.
