77051 Computer dx mammogram add-on

I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 (my first mammogram) at the age of 45. I had a lumpectomy (not offered a mastectomy) and had 20 lymph nodes removed. With Dr. requested mammograms at 6 months and at a year in 2006, and annually 2007, 2008, 2009. The mammograms at 6 months and yearly 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, were considered diagnostic and I was required to pay for them. I cannot pull up my BCBS of MI records back this far. After 12 years (2017), my cancer returned (after chemo and radiation) and again I experienced the same. On 12/16/2017 I had a regular screening mammogram and the next day on 12/17/2019 I was required to come back for a diagnostic mammogram that I had to pay for! The same happened when I was diagnosed with a colon polyp recheck colonoscopy!

I have a subsidized plan with Humana Medicare Advantage through my retirement system (OPERS, Ohio Public Employees Retirement System). In two years OPERS will no longer be offering the subsidy and I will be on the open market.

I was told my mammogram would be paid in full by the insurance company/Golden Rule and Kettering Health Network. I have received bills on a monthly basis $431.57 due and contacted both insurance and Kettering Health Network. Have been getting the run around since then. The last person I spoke with on 11/3/2020, told me to call back in 2 weeks while they looked into it. Had I known It was going to be so costly, I would have not have gotten a mammogram. Please help. I went for my wellness visit and my insurance paid for that mammogram, but it wouldn't pay for a follow up when I was notified that there was a problem & that I would need another mammogram and ultrasound of my breast. Then the hospital wanted me to come back in 6 months for another. I didnt. I am still paying for the last mammogram and ultrasound. Keep in mind that I went to a providing hospital in my plan!
